LOIR

Rosshalde

Series · 1910

Johann Veraguth is a painter for whom art becomes the central purpose of life and a source of refuge. His marriage gradually falls apart under the weight of mutual estrangement, while his relationship with his son reveals a deep divide between father and child, each seeing the world in his own way. Away from his family, at the Rosshalde estate, Veraguth seeks inner peace and struggles to understand what remains of a person when the pursuit of an ideal comes into conflict with the bonds that tie him to those he loves.
